You will work closely with experienced power system consultants within an EU Horizon Project on the computation and analysis of modern AC/DC power systems with advanced power electronics controllers. You will be actively involved in research collaboration with research institutions and industry partners to find innovative solution to various technical challenges and improve the products and services of Siemens Energy.How You’ll Make an Impact Independently conduct research and development of new applications and tools for electric power generation, transmission, and control systemsDevelop mathematical models in RMS and EMT for various transmission and generation system components (, HVDC, FACTS, Machines) using relevant simulation tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, and PSCADDesign and develop automation and software tools to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of power system studiesCreate innovative AI and ML-based applications and tools for the efficient planning and analyzing electric power systems and controllersActively collaborate with internal experts and research institutions to co-innovate and co-create new solutions for emerging challenges in power system generation and transmissionWhat You BringCompleted master’s degree in electrical power engineering with excellent academic record and previous research experiencePossess strong theoretical and practical background within the fields of power systems and control engineeringProficient in using one or more of the standard power system simulation programs (, PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD/EMTDC) and programming languages (, Matlab, Python, Fortran)Experienced in control theory, particularly in control algorithms for electric power systems and power electronics convertersStrong background in machine learning techniques, statistics, and probabilityGood communication skills in business- fluent in English, German is a plus
